Hi all --

Just reminiscing about the Dublin scene when I started punting.

Anyone remember "Executive" magazine, with the brothel ads?

And all along the Grand Canal, from Baggot Street Bridge to Mount Street, dozens of girls plying their trade. Nowadays you're more likely to get a "blow" from a Garda than a brasser in that area :)

And did we ever think that we'd be paying 250 quid for a "roide" lads? Did we ever think that we'd have that kind of money to spend??

So - what do ye think, boys and girls, are things better now? Or worse?

As a teenager I was into jogging to stay fit, I had a regular route down the canal banks from Sallys bridge to Sandymount.
I saw my first street walkers along the banks of the canal around Baggot street bridge, this became a routine sight for me on my evening runs, but I have to say that most of them looked awfull to me back then, always seemed to be aged in their mid 30s, big hair, bad make up, bad figures, bad clothes (even bad mini skirts-hard as that is to believe).
I was always weary of them, just nervous I suppose, several times, while jogging (!) I was asked by some of them do I "want to do business" (what did they expect me to do-take off my sweaty running gear to "do business", then put it back on and continue my 4 mile run?). I was fit, but I wasnt that fucking fit.
It was always an interesting area, you would see guys hiding in bushes watching the working girls (wanking?), and you would see cars moving slowly, the single male drivers staring at the girls. I once noticed a very good looking blond woman sitting in her car watching the girls ( a wife? checking to see if her husband was doing "business"?- that was my gut feeling back then)
I was a young lad then (late 80s, early 90s), and it was a tense area for me to be passing true. In later years there were some truely terrible looking junkie girls there also, mostly young, but very sick looking.
Overall I have to say that for me personnally, the whole thing along the canal, while interesting, was a turn sexual off.
Yep, thats what it was for me.

I was in Cork recently and parked in Lapps Quay (I think) at around 20:00 hrs. When I parked the guy in the car next to me was on his mobile, didn't pay much attention at the time. When I returned to my car about 20mins later the guy was there and a hooker was in the passenger seat leaning over to him giving him a bj.....I kid you not. I drove down the side street and waited for a while next thing she appeared and went down towards her friends near Jurys inn. She was a junkie if ever there was one - she'd want to do it for free before I'd let her near me.

she hangs around down by jurys inn and simon commuinity with a bunch of scums, fuckin gutless ones at that. So unless you can fight keep away from them becuase if they think they can get away with it they will jump you. They are not really st girls. When they get stuck for money to buy drink they pop around the cornor to do buisiness. Cork sts are officially dead. See the so called Gardai would prefer the easy way to work.so st girls ,tax insurance anything easy to keep their minds off breaking fights.

Her mouth ,his dick? Which is worse?

It's actually quite funny to see DickSpunk talking about the good old days two years ago. Two years later and with the country in deep recession, it's nice to look back on 2007 as the good old days.

Keep digging up the old threads Brother Nokia.......we'er big into nostalgia around here. :D:D:D
