My 3 suggestions for improving reviews which I think
can be done quickly
1: New symbol
Reason
Two many fraudelent reviews are not flagged or only
flagged by a comment in review
A new symbol in addition to rat symbol ,QUESTION MARK,
i.e.
RAT symbol for known or highly likely fraud
Question mark for suspected fraud or new reviewer
for example Look at Scarlets in cork last review by peeler
Its ovbious fraud although you can't prove it.
Should have a question mark symbol against it.
2: Increase colour code
reason
The current system of just postive and negative is too restrictiie

Very sastfied.................. green ................ green
Fairly Satisfied................. green ............... blue
n/a ................................ grey ................ grey
Fairly dis-Satisfied ..........red ...................yellow
Very dis-sastfied...............red ................ red
3: Establsied reviewers 3 levels of badge
Gold = 50 posts 75 reviews
Sliver= 25 posts 50 reviews
Bronze = 15 posts 25 reviews
Reviewer to be checked somehow before badge issued
trusted reviewer is changed to established reviwer

My concern would be making things more complex like you suggest would actually just make things more complicated and hard to underatand for the average user?

It is a imperfect system, but on balance to keep eveyone happy it is not the worst. The one thing I believe needs to be changed is the N/A symbol used for when an escort does not keep an appointment or for when you get there and she has hairy arms and a beard and you turn tail and run. To me these rate highly the on worst things an escort can do list. I know what you are thinking u have had no service so you cannot review. Well I think from the moment you phone and agree to make an appointment the service has begun(like any other contract). If you get there and complete your business and do not like it it is your opinion, one mans meat and all that, but if you make an appointment and the escort breaks it, well thats real. I have travelled along way on occasion and had no shows costing me money and a lot of frustration.

The reason this review is dodgy is he/she is a first time reviewer, registered that day, gave a ambsolutly glowing review, has never posted etc etc, it smells, the moderator left a comment at end
Reviews like this should either be ratted or else flagged some other way e.g. Question mark symbol

Lets watch peeler over next couple of months and see if he/she is real

Yes clients have their time wasted sometimes, but so do escorts. In fact I suspect escorts have their time wasted a lot more than clients do.
The current situation is that clients can leave a review when they have their time wasted saying how and why the escort wasted their time, but "N/A" comes up rather than a negative or positive symbol, as those symbol are based on questions you are not asked when filling out a review form if you say you didn't get as far as completing the booking.
I think a lot of escorts would consider it very unfair if clients who hadn't actually completed a booking with them could leave a negative mark on their reviews list, rather than the "N/A" that is currently there. And I tend to agree that I think it probably would be unfair.

Still can’t see why you find this review "Dodgy". You may notice from my reviews that I had a similar experience with Scarlet, and knowing the girl well I can believe his review. Are you suggesting that SCARLET requires to collude with a punter in order to get a good review, Huh, SCARLET, I think not. What are you suggesting that all first time reviewers should tone it down a bit? Remember a first time reviewer may be a novice to the game and can get a little bit excited after his encounter. I was there once and I’m sure you were. As you have mentioned the Mods response - I never really understand the requirement for this *** first review*** thing. Isn’t it blatantly obvious that this is his first review? It is also blatantly obvious when he joined?, its stated there on the page.
Whitenight - Having examined your new proposals for the review system I think that they are unnecessary. Color coded messages are not what’s needed. In my opinion I feel the Trusted Reviewer system actually does work. But we have to be able to trust the “trusted reviewers”. If I was staff I would list each current trustee, and examine his profile and history within some kind of forum and guarantee his trustee status. Once the general punter public can be more assured that these are trusted reviewers now we have a working system. A potential trustee should have at least 10 reviews. Posts to the Community Site should not be as important. There are a lot of goods reviewers out there that I would trust, that do not have a badge. It’s not too hard to work out who is legit and who is a waster. I think the current results in your poll reflect that this is what’s needed Patricia.
badges for "trusted reviewers" what does that mean, they have more reviews than anyone else of women who cant read or speak english so cant complain. some reviews are barely in english, others are macho nonsense, im so bis, she moaned, i came 50 times. seriously the review concept is helpful, escorts who do not participate hurt themselves, very often they are a moving feast, substitutes added by agencies, my own particular gripe is a review of mme avenante who i have on ly ever mer once, only an illiterate would regard that as a n/a, let me be clear i had a wonderful time with her, it matters to her not to me, so that should be changed, so sort it out, she deserves that, you have award winners, for what exactly? this is an information forum not a back slapping one.

The reason the review you left for Mademoiselle Avenante is marked n/a is because under the options for "Booking Outcome" you selected the option "Met with escort, but left without receiving service" so I suppose that would make you the illiterate............:rolleyes:

this is my first time postin. My opinion is that the review system at the moment is really f*** up. You get the rat way to fast or sometimes when some ppl should they don't. I have 2 reviews of the same girl and the 2nd review has a rat next to it why it doesn't say. I am a real punter so what is the explication for it. Or i did notice 1 really strange thing with 1 escort reviews. For a long time she only had a few and in the last 2months she started gettin atleast 1 review dayly if not 2 and 3. Now what are the chances in a bad economy that she has so many review writtgn punters dayly... Come on!
Being able to distinguish very (dis)satisfied from somewhat (dis)satisfied at a glance would be good. Even having two different shades of green or of red would probably be enough.
I like the idea of different symbols for definitely fake and possibly fake reviews. Sometimes reviews which are definitely fake are simply deleted, but I prefer to see that an escort has fake reviews, so I know to be cautious with her other reviews. Of course, like many ideas, this one will only work if applied consistently.
I don't like the idea of deciding on reviewer status by number of posts and reviews. If someone posts often enough that I think I have some understanding of his personality then I take his reviews more or less seriously as a result, but I don't care if someone has 100 "drop one keep one" posts.
Counting reviews is possibly even worse. There are two types of fake reviews in the system. Some escorts write their own reviews. The corresponding "reviewers" tend to have one, or occasionally two, reviews. These are never going to get "trusted reviewer" status, no matter how it's given. Then there are professional reviewers, people who go around to escorts asking for money or discounts in exchange for reviews. The really sleazy ones ask for money or discounts in exchange for not writing bad reviews. These reviewers tend to have many reviews, so any system which just counts reviews is very convenient for them.

Patricia i dont agree with you that colour coded meanings would be difficult for the average user, once you have learnt, you know. Some people in general wont be arsed what colour means what. but im sure if there is a colour code on the page of the review that can be seen every time you click on to read a review im sure people will pick it up. xxxxxx

Interesting statistic. I had always wondered what proportion of meetings actually resulted in a review being submitted. I know that it will probably vary greatly between escorts, but 1 in 25 sounds reasonable.

I am for real Taylor. to suggest that escorts need to get us back for time wasting is really not very helpful. My point is that N/A means Not Applicable. This is confusing to new users , it was for me and to the three people I introduced to this site. We all thought the site was deeming these reviews as Not Applicable. My suggestion is N/V for No Visit or B/A for Broken Appointment. I agree that time wasters are a real problem, it seems to be endemic in Dublin and the reason some Escots wont work there.

pat the review system is complicated enough already with out more silly complications
think of the adverage user not all know how to post a review in the current set up never mind complication it further
i have seen around 200 clients to get 8 reviews im afraid that if it gets more complicated this review out put will get smaller

They regiserted to leave a review and where never heard from again i.e. no activity
In addition 2 more have only two reviews.
Questionable activity on your account? Either its fraud or its a result of you asking people
to leave reviews how never left them before.
most reviewers who have one to three reviews are probaly fake
and it should be highlighted on review page list somehow that
this reviewer is written by such a reviewer, its the biggest problem with system
I don't Think its silly that we can see from the symbols the
mark the escorts got from very dissatfied to very sastfied it would seperate the very good
from the good and the very bad from the bad.
I think maybe with hindsight the different badges idea is a bit
too complicated.

Globally speaking looking at big picture
I estimate its about one in 275
According to review stats there are 15891 reviews in system From 2006 to 2009
Number of punts best case
4 years * 365 days* 6 punts a day * 700 escorts = 6132000
number of punts worst case
4 years * 365 * 4 punts a day *500 escorts = 2920000
Number of punts /number of reviews best case = 0.2606%
Number of punts /number of reviews worst case = 0.544%
Of course when you take repeat punts into account and that the fact
that only one review is allowed per punter per escort this would drop the figure towards your estimate by how much I don't know.
small point but could i suggest a thumbnail picture of the escort comes up with each review rather than having to click on her link (time is of the essence you know!), woddy

I suggest moving this part of the thread to the new Reviews' section. At the moment, when you add an escort to your favourites, it keeps her photo, regardless of whether she is active or not. When saving the review one or even all of her photos could be saved in the same manner. I think it's a good idea Jackpot!

Would e.i have to pay for a sh1tload more net space to hold all these photos? The idea of having pix there at the time of the review, which cannot be changed, is a good one. But it would create a lot more work for e.i staff, i.e if a escort changed her photos during the time the ad was being submitted, and by the time the pix were changed, review mods would have to track down the old photos to attatch them to the old review.
