EI,
After all the bitchin and fighting going on over the last few weeks i think it might be an idea to add a way of judging whether a member is helpful or just a troll..
On some forums i visit they have a "reputation bar" under every posters name..

When u read a post made by say "John" and you think it was a helpful, useful or even funny you can add to "John's" rep..
If "John" posts crap or insults someone you can subtract from his rep..
The more rep you have yourself, the more impact your + or - rep will have on "John"

When a member joins he starts off with no rep and depending how he behaves himself he will gain a reputation for being a good boy or for being annoying..

For new members it would be very easy to see from someones rep whether their post is to be taken seriously or not..

Also you can only give a poster + or - rep so many times every month.. Usually once.
This stops posters - rep people they dont like constantly and friends + rep each other to gain a high rep..

One site where this works well is Grass City.. The rep bar is the green bar under posters name..
Ahhh the great gun debate - Grasscity.com Forums (http://forum.grasscity.com/politics/500829-ahhh-great-gun-debate.html)

Mods please delete this link if its not allowed..:)

Who decides if 'Johns' posts are crap ? or not ?

Mods ?

What is perfect sense to some is not always to others..............we already have 'medals' for the guys that have the most reviews - however, one of our medal owners has been banished to Mt Doom.....

You either read the posts or you don't - why do we need a 'reputation bar' - total tosh - and that is me being polite!!

Everyone who is a registered user of the forum.. ( everybody) would be able to give + or - rep to "John"..
The higher your rep the more of an impact you can make on "Johns" rep bar..

The idea behind it is if someone joins up and starts throwing around insults and upsetting genuine members they can be given - rep by anyone they piss off..
Likewise if someone joins and contributes to the forum they can be rewarded with + rep..

When someone posts something you can easily tell by looking at their rep bar whether they should be taking seriously or not..

Its only an idea and maybe it might complicate things further but it works very well on other forums..

A reputation thing???

We did have one. There was even a thread about back in March: https://www.escort-ireland.com/boards/escort-ireland-com/18255-karma.html

To tell the truth, I hadn't noticed its disappearance until Drake's post.

Maybe it upped costs.

How does it look with this suggestion? Any news? This one is one of the few ones which makes sense to me. At least I would know, if I'm more annoying or entertaining and when to shut up...
