Galway racegoers will be protected from those evil sex workers this year according to this top notch piece of journalism from the Connacht Tribune:

http://connachttribune.ie/garda-crackdown-galway-races-prostitution/

It's also a great opportunity for the Magdalene Sisters to make sweeping statements:

''Gerardine Rowley of Ruhama – the organisation which provides help for women affected by prostitution – told the Galway City Tribune: “It’s far from harmless fun. The trade has become much more sinister, and many are working for traffickers and pimps, and experience intimidation and violence. The vast majority [of prostitutes] are controlled by criminals.”

We hear that at this time every year! It might be the local Pigz feel they have to be seen to do something at least once a year, so they put out a warning that they may act!
I can absolutely guarantee you that the Pigz in Galway have the easiest time of any equivalent group of so called law officers in any urban area of equivalent size in Europe! Indeed other pigz take a very cynical view of them, they're known as extremely work shy, oh, they will go after easy fines alright!
I have never heard of any raids related to this time of year in Galway making it to the courts!
You can be certain that copious amounts of the devil's dandruff will be snorted by the great and the good over the coming few days in Galway at top notch hotels and not a single thing will be done about it! Why? Because the pigz especially in Galway are very well aware that their main function is the protection of the very same 'Great and Good' and to police everyone else!:feckyou:

Disgusting, also that a rep of Magdellan-Ruhama would dare to speak out about consensual sex work given that Galway had a particularly nasty Magdellan Coincentration camp within the city!
In fact it was deliberately left out of the report on those institutions, why? I'm not so sure, but it could be that it was a concentration camp at an even higher level of abuse than the others!

whats with all the crackdowns and raids now,

the law is still the same so why is it happening now.

and i though they were cutting back on garda numbers so how come they have time for this, have they not more important things to be doing.

Ah typical lazy journalist. He counts some escorts 2 or 3 times. There's not that much choice in Galway :D

The guards are widely known to be amongst the most avid of punters! Not a surprise really, predominantly male, mostly a bit unusual personality wise, vastly overpaid and non accountable for their time at work!
This warning stinks more of jealousy than anything else as Galway is so busy at time of year, they have to work a bit, which they detest!

A few things re this. First hypocrisy is rife re this event. Fun filled family event etc etc. How many people life's have been destroyed by excessive drink and gambling. But then off course its "regulated", as in a tax take for the exchequer. Secondly the place will be "Policed" to excess, all of course in the name of law & order, and nothing to do with overtime etc. And all those poor trainers and owners will get "Tax" breaks for such a worthy profession. So how can the state make it plausible, ah yes target "Prostitution", the little people like that evil scourge kept away form the "Christian" country. Isn't that right Sister Magdalene and Fr Abuser.

And your surprised. I have had a warrant card shoved in my face by numerous members of the force when I have confronted their actions re anti social behaviour and certain other unacceptable behaviour matters.

Not a word about drug dealers criminals and antisocial behaviour . But the most serious and dangerous criminals like a ladie on her own making a living entertaining men must be dealt with . This country hadn't really come that far in the 100 years . Ladies will be targeted becaus they are easy targets with no voice in this society . The police in this country have nothing to b proud of really

Again I have never heard of any raids in Galway at this time of year coming before the courts!
Just because the local pigs claim there will be, doesn't mean there will be. They are noted liars! And they always say it at this time of year! NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING, UNTIL IT'S OFFICIALLY DENIED!
I remember a few years ago, they came out and finally told the truth that they were officially drunk driving testing in the mornings, after years of doing it and denying that they were! I support that form of testing, but lies from the swine fever veterans is a serious no no!:cop:

Yip, at least one case makes it to court every year since I started punting. Just last year (maybe the year before) a bevy of Romanian girls were brought before a judge and sent home after being raided.

The thing about the Galway Races raids is that they seem to be at the same location year after year (regular Galway punters know where I'm talking about).

There is one or two locations in Galway I wouldn't visit even at the quietest times of year. If the local johns have any sense they will avoid these places. I'm seeing a girl this week but it will be at her private apartment.

Next week normal service will be resumed and we can wait until the 2015 races before the next furore over Galway escorts.
