Gareth Bale has joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur on a six-year-contract.

He will be presented to Real's supporters at 12pm on Monday.

The fee has yet to be confirmed but both clubs have confirmed the deal.

El Mundo newspaper has reported that the fee is €91m (£77.7m) which falls just short of the £80m the Liga giants paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

However reports in Britain say that the price is closer to £86m which would be a record.

Bale will wear the number 11 shirt in Madrid.


No confirmation on the price yet, but is he worth £80m++ in the first place ? Will he shine in Madrid ?

I know he's worth whatever someone's willing to pay but £80m seems a bit excessive considering Falcao and Cavani went for less than £55m each. Wish him all the best but he'll be playing 2nd fiddle to Ronaldo.

Real Madrid have broken the world transfer record to sign Tottenham forward Gareth Bale.

The Wales star has agreed a £300,000 per week, six-year deal after sealing an £85.3m (100m euros) move which eclipses the £80m Real paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

World record fee and £300k a week (is that more than Ronaldo and Messi's weekly wage?). No pressure Gareth :D

100 MILLION EURO well if Bale is worth that how much is Messi worth another hat trick in 40 mins against Valencia could

Well it makes Wengers singing of Mesut Ozil look great value at 50 million Euro , is Bale twice as good as Ozil?
They are roughly same age , Ozil has proven himself with a top club we have yet to see what Bale will do.
It seems mad to me
