I would recommend you stay in Kirchenalle which is an area opposite the main train station (Hautbanhof) in Hamburg. There are plenty of old style street girls and pubs/brothels around here, about 2/3 blocks worth and plenty of hotels.
It is within walking distance of the main city centre just over the river on the opposite side of the station.
Obviously it is also within easy access of the trams which will have you out in St Pauli at the Reeperbahn in next to no time. I kid you not when I say you will be fighting them off out here. Have a good walk around first before commiting because invariably there will be something better around the corner.
I would always recommend a bit of Reconnaisance before getting your lad out. Prices are reasonable but make sure you ask first as they will fleece you if they can, thankfully its not rampant though.

The Girls off the Reeperbahn are all a rip off and not giving a good service so would stay away from them. Reeperbahn is good fun for a few pints and titty shows but thats it.
I went to two good brothels both on outskirts of town. Only draw back with both is that they charge €200 for an hour. But you get a good service for that... and the girls are hot aswell. And no problem speaking english in both.
