I have seen things today that make me so angry with the escort community that I honestly do not think I can continue to fight this battle without prejudice.
I know those responsible are just an insignificant handful who like to kid themselves they are a "controlling elite" and this is actually about a couple of thousand women who have better things to do with their lives than behave like that, but my subconscious is refusing to take it that way any more.
In the past hour or so I lost it to the point where I was tempted to take back some of the work I have done...and, with a cool head, that is *NOT* acceptable, BECAUSE of the majority of other women with better things to do than play these stupid playground power games who ARE important...but how long can I guarantee to keep that cool head 24/7?
There is a lot of stress on my own life (yes I do have one) right now...and I don't think I can guarantee that AT ALL any more.
There was always going to come a time when I would walk away and turn my back for good, I guess this is it.

Sorry LBT, but none of your post made sense to me! What happened? Hope your ok.
You mention you have enough stress in your life, then maybe take time out and sort your own life out.
After all common sense tells us we cant help anyone else until we have helped ourselves.

I think I have an idea of whats going on with LBT.
Will have it confirmed today, by a phone call.
I will talk to her because I went to bed yesterday perhaps for same reason as her thread , but both of us have to keep cool on this.

Sadly it's a bit more serious than silliness and bitching.
A handful of people who like to think of themselves as an "elite" and who are, frankly, not half as smart as they think they are are >< far from derailing everything by trying to do what they try to do with everything and impose control on it.
They know so little about the way politics works and are so wrapped up in their silly, selfish agenda that they have, in effect, an automatic weapon pointed at their own feet (and everybody else's) with the trigger set to "random fire"...instead of, as they imagine, pointed at me.
All I can do is vanish down a rabbit hole and hope that discourages them from firing and undoing so much essential work...
Left to their own devices their mingboggling arrogance and stupidity will win this for Ruhama.
So I give up.

Talking in riddles because I don't think spelling out the details, our TORLek fans (:wave: mornin' ladies!) for the use of, would be a particularly smart move right now?
There really isn't anything anyone could advise on and every solution I can think of seems to be illegal (the really effective, fun stuff always is :( )
So there is nothing more I can achieve now and the best thing I can do is duck out to limit the damage from these idiots. Can't even negotiate with 'em (not that I ever do, but just supposing, hypothetically) because there is so much murky stuff behind them that I would discredit myself with the REST of the world by negotiating with them...
Never mind, I have achieved a lot, most of it should stand...and there is nothing more I can do now.
So sorry to see you in such bad form LaBelle, I can only hope that you'll feel better soon, and maybe a step back at this point is what you need on a personal level.
I won't speculate on the forum as to what points you're hinting at, but I think I'm reasonably good at reading between the lines, so your decision at this point n the game to bow out is (at least partially) understood. Don't stay away too long, and we can only hope that you'll at least still try to take an 'advisory' role to those who will be on the front lines of what seems to be the looming battle. Much respect LaBelle. :)

It's clear enough for me LaBelle, and it ought to be clear enough for everyone else too. But remember, you don't owe any of us an explanation. Your decision is your own, and protecting yourself and those that could be affected from the 'fallout' of what's probably on the way is more than you ever needed to say, but it's nice of you to say it, and I think everyone will understand.

Actually she does owe an explanation, and has given one. She has pushed for people to get involved and some have,and right at a crucial time she is withdrawing from the arena so for that an explanation was needed.Now all that is needed is a big thank you to Belle and hopefully she will return to the battle soon.

To re-iterate the advice already given LBT - Take time out. A lot of effort and work that you've obv put in over the last while can get overwhelming and when people correctly/not get a different end of a stick ,its easy for people to get itchy keyboard fingers.
Everybody and i mean everybody is fully aware of how difficult to stand in front of the Dail ,with Rachel ,on yer own , to protest on an issue as taboo as sexwork - you've led your cause and then some. Individually , we all might support a taboo cause if numbers were big enough (safety in numbers etc.) - to do in isolation takes some bottle. And it wasn't the first time either that you've spoke in public in defence of sex work.
From practical side , it doesn't really matter who speaks on behalf of sex workers to be honest - the committee has effectively made their collective mind up despite the presence of some open-minded individuals. Minister Shatter is the go-to guy in all this . Effective meetings with mr Shatter demanding all social models ,researched by genuine independent people is the only responsible means of making that fully-informed decision.Once sex workers relay that message directly and logically to Mr Shatter ,then the right result will ensue.
Contact those you want to and let them know , you'll be unwinding off-line for a while.
