were there any requests/invites made by any politicians to make contributions at the Justice Commitee hearings currently in situ? I'm writing an email to the various elected individuals on the commitee(thanks to Banjaxed list) listing the various flaws of the commitee (notwithstanding the one sole meeting so far) and one of the key criticisms about the manner of the commitee's responsibilities is the lack of any presence of sex workers. On sexwork.ie ,it was stated that govt officials HAVE the email addresses of the girls who spoke , so if indeed this is true ,the commitee has to be challenged on the deliberate omission of their testimony.
I've a long , respectful draft made out which debunks much of the TORL 'factual' basis but i think its important to know for one of my points,if emails are held but just ignored for the purposes of railroading the Swedish model through.
My email will also be sent to Alan Shatter T.D. expressing my concerns of the bona fides of the commitee as he is someone whom i feel does have a more genuine intent in creating the optimum environment available for sexworkers than many involved at the moment.
