Hi,
Just wondered was it by design that if you look at the forum as a guest all postings display a time 1 hour behind the time displayed if you are loogged in
Or are they running on 2 different servers and someone has setup the automatic time update incorrectly on 1 of them?

I actually don't know why that is.

However, I do know that we upgraded these forums to a new version of the software last week and found several little buggy things after we had.

However, they are releasing a new version of this software on 24th of June, so I figured I wasn't going to waste my tech guys time trying to fix all these little issues this week... Just for a new version to then be released the following week which will probably bring a whole new set of issues... I'd just wait until the new version is out in a few days, then get them to address all the little buggy things.

I'll add this to their list.

If it is not the forums software it must be the servers, but usually when their clocks go wrong they go back to US time (which would be the time in the data centre where they are hosted), not one hour off GMT.

High,

On the bottom right of Forum page it say’s that times are shown in GMT and the time next to it is an hour less then us, I’m not being a smart arse but I’m certain (I think, I’m starting to doubt myself) we are in the same time zone as GMT

I checked it with the link below where all country’s can be clicked on to see what GMT bracket they are in and Ireland and UK are in the same one.

Just puzzled as to why all posts here have a time stamp an hour before the actual time they were posted if we are in the same TZ as GMT.
If I’ve it arse way’s, I’m sorry....

Thank you for your feedback.

What, I’m right about something !!!
Jes...thats a first for me..I’ll have to chalk it down. :)

Just puzzeled me for the last while.

Sorry to have repeated what was already known and discussed.

High also Anon, you know your stuff in this area, I once shut down a very well known multi national company for the best part of a day when I started pressing buttons I didn’t know I was not supposed to. The I.T. dept. are still scatching their heads about it, I was a quiet boy that day I can tell you...

Best Regards

I'm still using the good old Julian calendar. What month is this anyway?

We and the UK are currently using Daylight Saving Time, or Summer Time. We are only on GMT in the winter.

Carlos...

If you’re still on the Julian Calendar, then its March for you....

Reason's...

1: Beware the ides of March (The soothsayer's warning to Julius Caesar /
et tu brute)

2: Your as mad as a March Hare :)

3: The Easter Rising, (I know tour a fan) ;)

Come on over to the Gregorian...the months fly by

Time issue should now be fixed. Is correct for me now whether I am logged in or out.

If it is not correct for you when logged in, check here:
https://www.escort-ireland.com/boards/profile.php?do=editoptions

It may be that you have opted not to use 'GMT' and 'automatically detect DST' for some reason. These are the defaults when you register, but people can change the options if they wish.
