It is a question that has interested and concerned me for a while. What will happen when I get older in regards to my sex life? Will I be going at it like a rabbit in my sixties? Will my Mrs even want me to?
To be fair I can see my sex drive being as strong as ever, just like my love of football, but I hear lots of scare stories of the females sex drive going through the floor as they get older. I will be honest, it fills me with a sense of dread!
An Interesting Study
Thankfully, it seems that researchers believe women wont become less interested in sex if they have always enjoyed an active sex life. Women who say sex is important to them are likely to keep having sex into their old age.
US researcher Dr Holly Thomas states that the main factor was how highly women rated having sex originally.
Dr Thomas and her colleagues at the University of Pittsburgh Center for Research on Healthcare studied 600 women between the ages of 40 and 65; the study beginning in 2005. After four years, researchers found that 354 of the initial 602 participants were still sexually active and they formed the baseline group. At year eight, 85 per cent of this group remained sexually active.
After rating how important they found sex (from important to not important) the survey found that women who rated sex as important were three times as likely to remain sexually active as women who rated it as unimportant.
For the purposes of the survey, sexually active meant having had sex in the last six months. Though the survey never looked at frequency, the average amount seems once a month.
Dr Thomas states that “A woman’s sex life may change over time, but that doesn’t necessarily mean sex isn’t important or she isn’t enjoying it.”
That is quite refreshing to hear to be fair. My Mrs has, without going into detail, always had a healthy sex drive. It appears that my fears my be groundless.
The Companionship of an Escort
