The Essentials You Should Put In Your Goodie Drawer

A lot of people tend to have a goodie drawer somewhere in their house. It might not even be a drawer. Personally, I have a suitcase underneath my bed which I can pull out for fun. But the things we keep in this ‘drawer’ might change depending on our interests.

Knowing the essentials to keep in the drawer can be a bit of a challenge. If you’re into vanilla sex, things like butt plugs might not make an appearance. If you like to kink things up a little bit without going too extreme, a gas mask might not be a part of it. Here are the essentials you should put in your goodie drawer, as well as a few suggestions for things to consider.

Condoms

One of the first things you should put into your goodie drawer is condoms. Safe sex is a must, especially if you have multiple sexual partners. Condoms are the only method of preventing STIs and STDs, so it is wise to wrap up before you fuck.

They are a good idea because there are so many different varieties out there. If you have trouble with premature ejaculation, extra thick condoms are a great idea. They lessen the sensations you feel which each and every stroke, helping you last a little longer. Some also have a numbing lube on the inside to help you delay your ejaculation.

If you want to make your partner feel good, there are a number of other types of condoms you can try. Ones with ribs and dots on them can help to stimulate your partner with each and every thrust, making things more exciting. Flavoured condoms can also be good for oral sex… just don’t expect the flavour on the packet to be the exact same taste as the one you get.

Lubricant

After condoms, one of the things that you should be thinking about is lubrication. Lubricant is important to sex, as it helps make whatever type of sex you have that little bit easier. Whether you are sticking with vaginal or are hoping for anal, lube helps.

The difficulty is lubes is knowing which one you’ll need. Oil-based has a thicker consistency and can be less irritating for you and your partner, but it destroys latex. Not a good idea when having safe sex. Silicone-based is a popular option because it is slick and lasts a long time. However, it can destroy silicone toys.

If you want to err on the side of caution, a water-based lube is good. It dries out quickly and can turn sticky, meaning that reapplication is a must. However, it is friendly to both latex and silicone, ensuring you can have safe sex and use sex toys at the same time.

A small toy

For some people, using a toy during sex isn’t something that they are interested in doing. They are content with their sex life the way that it is and they don’t see the point in adding another element during sex. However, it might still be worth keeping a small toy of some kind in your goodie drawer.

My suggestion would be to keep a vibrating bullet in there. These toys are small and discreet. Best of all, they are usually relatively cheap! When looking to buy one, go for a waterproof one. This means that you can take them into the bathroom with you. But that’s not all.

When I first bought one, I was told that they can really spice up oral. The woman in the shop suggested that I put it into my mouth and hold it there while going down on my partner. It really mixes things up, and because they are so versatile we are sure you’ll come up with plenty of different uses for one!

What’s in your goodie drawer?

The other things that go in a goodie drawer might vary from person to person. In mine I have sex toys like dildos, vibrators, g-spot vibrators, and of course my trusting vibrating bullet. I also have things like blindfolds, handcuffs, and a spanking paddle in there. There are a few kinky costumes in it as well.

Just because something is in your drawer doesn’t mean you should feel compelled to use it. Some things in mine come our purely on special occasions. For example, my spanking paddle isn’t use too often. It is there for when the situation calls for it.

It is a good idea to have a variety of things in your drawer, just in case. What do you have in yours? What do you consider to be a ‘must have’ for anyone wanting to update their toy chest? Let us know in the comments. You can even recommend the best toys to buy!
