People tend to have two different views when it comes to music during sex. Some think that music is a distraction from the act itself. You’ll become so focused on enjoying the tune that you might not pay your partner as much attention as you should. Others believe that sex without music is boring. They believe that sex songs can help to enhance the mood and make it far more exciting.
It is important that, if you do want to enjoy some music during sex, you choose the right sex songs. Choosing the wrong one can totally kill the mood, or at the very least leave you both giggling over what is playing. But it seems that for some people there are a number of strange sex songs they actually love listening to.

Cantina Band
I am a huge fan of films. There isn’t any set genre I love, but there are certain classics I can’t help returning to. The Star Wars series is definitely one of them. It is full of iconic lines and music that you can’t help humming along to, like the repetitive Cantina Band.
However, it seems that this is a top pick for people in Australia when it comes to music to play during sex. No, we really aren’t making this up. Spotify found that this was the number one song to appear in playlists with “sex” somewhere in the title.
The song appears alongside things like “Birthday Sex” by Jeremih, and “Sex on Fire” by Kings of Leon. However, as much as I am a fan of movies and of Star Wars, I don’t think I’d be able to keep a straight face and continue fucking my partner if this tune was playing in the background. You’ve Got A Friend In Me
There are some songs that play and you instantly want to sing along. You know the tune and you know the words really well. If you are listening to it with your partner it can create an instant intimate connection between you.
Not all songs are suitable for this. Worryingly, these songs seem to appear in many tales of music during sex. Often it is a case of the song simply coming on accidentally, but for some it has been purposefully placed there. Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” is one of these songs.
It is iconic, but that doesn’t mean we want to have sex to it! In fact, it is a song that would instantly turn many people off. You’d want to leave the bedroom rather than fuck to the tune. So to avoid this happening to you, make sure you remove it from the playlist before you start the music. Otherwise you’ll be left a little red in the face.
Chop Suey!
We all have different tastes in music. You might enjoy listening to the latest trap music, while others prefer to stick to rock. If you are going to fuck to music, you need to make sure you and your partner share the same tastes in songs.
System Of A Down are an alternative metal/hard rock group. They are much loved by many people, and if this is the music your partner is into and you want to surprise them with it, you might be tempted to just go for one of their more popular songs.
“Chop Suey!” is not a good choice for a sex song. The constantly changing pace would be a challenge to keep up with, but screaming music during sex? It doesn’t do anything for us, so stick to something else… maybe without any lyrics at all?
Flight Of The Bumblebee
Going for lyricless songs during sex is a good idea. You won’t be distracted by what is being head, and mishearing the lyrics won’t be a problem for you. The mistake that people make here is to click on any old song in the hopes that it will work.
The orchestral interlude “Flight of the Bumblebee” might be an iconic song, but you don’t want this piece playing while you have sex. Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s composition is ridiculously fast, and so will be terrible for pacing.
Not only that, but it hardly strikes us as romantic. There are so many other wordless songs out there that would better. In fact, you could cheat. Why not go looking for karaoke versions of your favourite songs instead? This way it will mean something to you and your partner and you won’t have lyrics to distract you from the moment.

Making love to music is something that you are either happy to do or you aren’t. There isn’t really a middle ground. It can be off-putting at times, or it can really enhance the moment.
