We are all looking to improve our performance at work. Whether it is to get a promotion, or just wanting to keep our asshole boss off our back, we just want to get that bit better than our colleagues. Well it seems that there in an answer as to how this improvement to come. All you need to do is have more sex!
A team from Oregon Stat Uni looked at 159 married employees from an unnamed office-based business, analysing their work performance and their sex life.
Those who had sex the night before at home performed their tasks better the next day at the office.
Motivation
They came to work happier and more fulfilled, devoted themselves to the tasks they were given, and therefore had more enjoyment in their role, said OSU’s College of Business professor Keith Leavitt.
Apparently, it boosts job satisfaction which gives them a better work-life balance, said researchers from a US university for the specialist Journal of Management.
Leavitt stated: “We make jokes about people having a ‘spring in their step,’ but it turns out this is actually a real thing and we should pay attention to it.
“Maintaining a healthy relationship that includes a healthy sex life will help employees stay happy and engaged in their work, which benefits the employees and the organisations they work for.”
Sounds good eh?
So Why Does Sex Make You better at Your Job?
However, it may not be the sex that is the benefit. It may just be the fact that you are spending time away from the computer desk. Time having sex is time not checking emails or doing other tasks. Therefore you are refreshed by the time you get back to the desk so more able to perform.
Leavitt added: “This is a reminder that sex has social, emotional and physiological benefits, and it’s important to make it a priority. Just make time for it.
“Making a more intentional effort to maintain a healthy sex life should be considered an issue of human sustainability, and as a result, a potential career advantage.”
In the end, it doesn’t matter why it makes you feel better, you need to have more sex before you come to work. Your boss will be delighted with you! Do you need any more encouragement?
