Social media went mental yesterday with the ‘revelation’ from Pornhub that ‘Titcoins’ were going to be introduced to businesses worldwide. Needless to say, reaction to this ‘innovation’ was mixed, to say the least.
How To use Titcoins
This is all on the back of Bitcoins, which has become a very strong digital currency, and seem to be here to stay, much to a lot of peoples surprise.
Titcoins would work as follows. A company would register to accept Titcoins online. Let’s take the example of a bar. A woman may want to pay for her drink with Titcoins, so she would show her boobs to the bartender. He or she would take a picture and send it to Pornhub, who would take it as user generated amateur content, which is incredibly popular. Only boobs would show of course; no faces.
When I first saw this I didn’t know if it was real or not. It seems, after closer inspection that it was a wind up, but it certainly got peoples attention. There were people thinking it was a great idea, and then there were people who were getting very upset that it was ‘objectifying women’.
Publicity Stunt Or Genuine Idea?
Some people thought this could be a dry run to see if the idea would fly. I’m quite cynical, so I like that as a theory, but I think there is one major problem with it. Girls getting their boobs out randomly in a bar may offend some people, so I doubt Pornhub are REALLY considering it, but you never know. I have been wrong before!
You have to give Pornhub credit, as they have at worst got loads of publicity, and at best they could be onto something.
