A butcher in India has reportedly chopped off the hand of his teenage son after repeatedly catching him watching pornography.
It seems that upon being caught again, the youngster refused to hand over his mobile phone, causing his father to snap.
The alleged incident is said to have happened in the city of Hyderabad, India, when 18-year-old Mohammad Khalid Qureshi refused to obey repeated warnings from his 45-year-old father, Mohammad Qayyum Qureshi.
A Violent Argument
When the teenager was once again caught by his dad watching naughty films, Qayyum tried to snatch the phone off him. Instead of handing it over, Khalid bit his father’s hand and fled the house, only returning later on when everyone was asleep. The next morning when they all awoke, they clashed again.
“In a fit of anger, Qayyum picked up his butcher’s knife and chopped off Khalid’s right hand,” Pahadishareef police inspector P Lakshmikanth Reddy told the Hindustan Times.
“Hearing the son’s screams, the other family members came and immediately took him to a nearby hospital, where the doctors said the hand was 90% severed and the chances of restoring it are bleak.”
After the incident, the father handed himself into police.
“The father has been booked under section 307 of Indian Penal Code (attempt to murder) and taken into custody,” Reddy said.
During questioning, the dad said his son was ‘badly addicted to watching porn on his mobile phone at the expense of his work, food, and sleep’.
Porn Addiction is Real
Well, porn addiction is a serious issue which needs to be dealt with by therapy and counselling. It could be argued that chopping someone’s hand off is a bit excessive. You can’t even say it us effective as he still has his other hand!
In all seriousness, we hope the lad gets his hand back and his porn addiction is cured. When something takes over your life, be it drink, drugs, or pornography, it can have a really damaging affect. Though it can be a frustrating time for friends and family, you don’t need me to tell you that physical violence is never the answer. Despite the humorous subtext to this story, a father chopping a son’s hand off is sick.
