In one of the more depressing stories I have brought to you in a while, it has been revealed that comic legend Bill Cosby acquired drugs with the express purpose of using them to have sex with women.
Cosby testified in 2005 that he got Quaaludes with the sole intent of giving them to ladies who he wished to have sex with. He admitted to giving them to at least one woman and ‘other people’, according to documents obtained by the Associated Press.
The entertainer was testifying under oath in a 2006 lawsuit which was filed by a former Temple University employee. He admitted he gave her three half pills of Benadryl.
Cosby went on to settle out of court.
Cosby’s lawyers fought against this testimony being made public, claiming that it was going to embarrass their client.
No shit!
As anyone who has been keeping up with the news will know, Cosby has been accused by more than two dozen women of sexual assault. It is claimed he would drug them, and then perform sexual attacks. They would then wake up either not knowing they has been assaulted, or having a rather bad feeling about it.
Most of these cases are barred from criminal prosecution due to the statute of limitations. Whereas in the UK, where you have all these historic sex cases making their way to court, America has a system where they need to be brought within a certain time frame. However, one suspects that there will be a number of civil cases coming the way of Bill, 77.
Not Looking Good
Although I am not here to say whether Mr Cosby is guilty of any offences or not, it has to be said, it doesn’t look very good. He claims that these women wanted the drugs, but why on earth would someone want to be either passed out, or have no memory of a sexual encounter? To be fair, it makes no sense.
It is a huge fall from grace for the much loved comic, who spent years at the top of his game, with shows like ‘The Cosby Show’, and constant appearances in adverts, making him a staple of American life.
It is blatantly obvious that Cosby has a case to answer. It may not end up in a criminal court, but his ‘victims’ deserve a chance to make their accusations in a civil proceeding. However, one suspects that this will all be settled out of court, just like what happened to the case in 2006.
Escort Ireland will keep you up to date with the developments of the case. It is certainly making extremely ‘interesting’ viewing.
