I see a star, an exclamation mark, a edit post button, reply button, reply with quote and the plus button...AAAGGH help.

Ah, now I remember, it's because you only have 6 posts. Keep posting and then after a certain number of posts (10 according to justfrank) you'll be allowed thank people's posts.
