    Default Naivety about STIs

What do people think of forum on here where people may want to vent about STIs they may have suffered from, or close calls they had? I think it might act as a wake up call for some of the guys on here who are either naive about STIs or just plain wreckless.

Something you want to tell the group or a gp podgegun?

Once your more likely to get an std from a one night stand than from an escort

Its professional suicide to be an escort who has an std and so 99% will be cleaner than the Virgin Mary herself

This is the word of you Lord

Ridiculous comment. What you mean to say is that youre more likely to use a condom with a escort than a random girl, which in itself is a subjective view.

If you believe this you're burying your head in the sand. Risk of an sti infection rises exponentially from sex with a sex worker, which is a fact. A lot of women here take great sexual care of themselves but they have multiples of 'partners' which greatly increases the risk.

Like in finance, is there really a thing as a risk-free return? No.
Risk of sti infection from the escort sector as a whole is extremely high, risk from an individual escort might be extremely low. Will it ever be risk free? No.

Don't bury your head listening to replies like those outlined above, it only increases the risk.

    Or am I wrong?

"HCV is spread most commonly through inadvertent exposure to infected blood. Intravenous drug abuse is the most common mode of transmission. The risk of acquiring HCV through sexual contact is low."

    http://www.medicinenet.com/hepatitis_c/article.htm

    "How is Hepatitis C spread?
Hepatitis C is spread when blood from a person infected with the Hepatitis C virus enters the body of someone who is not infected. Today, most people become infected with the Hepatitis C virus by sharing needles or other equipment to inject drugs. Before 1992, when widespread screening of the blood supply began in the United States, Hepatitis C was also commonly spread through blood transfusions and organ transplants.

People can become infected with the Hepatitis C virus during such activities as
•Sharing needles, syringes, or other equipment to inject drugs
•Needlestick injuries in health care settings
•Being born to a mother who has Hepatitis C

Less commonly, a person can also get Hepatitis C virus infection through
•Sharing personal care items that may have come in contact with another person’s blood, such as razors or toothbrushes
•Having sexual contact with a person infected with the Hepatitis C virus

Can Hepatitis C be spread through sexual contact?

Yes, but the risk of transmission from sexual contact is believed to be low. The risk increases for those who have multiple sex partners, have a sexually transmitted disease, engage in rough sex, or are infected with HIV. More research is needed to better understand how and when Hepatitis C can be spread through sexual contact."

Safe sex practices (using condoms for intercourse) practically eliminates the likelihood of infection with HepC.

It is not considered an STI.
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

When it comes to STI's and other transmittables, some people like to make out that the risks involved for escorts and their clients are low. Others prefer the head in the sand approach. In the case of Hep... The best thing you can do is take responsibilty for yourself and get vaccinated.

Here Hep C is being discussed. There is no vaccine available for Hep C.

I'd say best course of action is to first get informed on these issues.

My apologies Madam and my mistake. i was referring to Hep B for which clients and escorts should be vaccinated.
I'm well informed. It was a simple error in my reading of the post.
Sorry to piss on your chips

Rather than start a new thread, I necro'd this one.
CDC has announced that the most commonly used treatment for gonorrhoea is no longer effective.
