Apartment access

Has anyone else noted that at some apartments the outer door or gate (street access to the apartment block) intercom or room operated electronic lock release doesn't work. Some escorts have a work around, which means access via a parking garage or alternative access but in others the escort has to come down from the apartment to let the client in. I have been told by two recent escorts that this is a deliberate act by the apartment owners or managers to deter use of the apartments by escorts. Could this be correct?

I doubt it's deliberate. Most apartment blocks I've stayed in the outer doors or gates were always breaking and malfunctioning, they get a lot of use and take a lot of punishment.

I'd imagine the 'regular' tenants would far outnumber the escorts and their complaints about the gates would mount up fast.

My first reaction was that it is unlikely and just a bit of paranoia, but thinking more about it, there may be something in it.

If I had a short-term-rental property and I discovered that it was becoming a regular escort stop, then this would be quite a good way to discourage it. A tourist renting an apartment for a week to visit a city will typically have almost no visitors, so will not be bothered by this at all.

I wonder how many landlords would care about this - they probably make much more money catering to escorts than just to tourists.

In the worst situation you can say you are an older man and sometimes you need some company. This is what you pay our company.

A frequent problem in apartments in people buzzing random apartments from the main gate. The occupant gives them access to avoid the annoyance, or maybe they thing they are someone who has not got their key. Once inside in the communal area they (and their friends) use this area as a drinking den etc.

Residents are often told not to let in anyone not visiting them but still they do continuing the problem. A common solution is to disable remote access.
