Default 5,483 Covid-19 cases confirmed today

    Another lockdown?

They won't lock it down this side of Christmas.

I know a girl who's 2 boys and hubby both have covid, I asked her if she's still sharing the bed with him , she said of course ........she is still going to work and not self isolating, says she's had tests and showing no symptoms......wtf

And they wonder how it's spreading !!!

Society today have no concept of life and think they are a law to themselves.

Anyone else think the government reopened everything just so they can turn around and say 'now we told you so' and close it again... or is that just me being paranoid?

Think it's just you being paranoid. Why would a government want to close an economy down given the costs involved? So that just doesn't make sense.

The government was harassed by people for a "road map" and as part of that gave dates for reopening various sectors. I think in the end sectors such as nightclubs were allowed open at a time when cases were rising because firstly the expectation was there and secondly I think the government wanted to shed the cost of keeping them closed. In the context of infection spread it was never a good idea but figures could be far worse given the amount of movement right now.

Unfortunately a new year lockdown look a real possibility. But we are in unknown territory in the sense that vaccination has clearly broken the connection between infection and hospitalisation but if the figures get high enough hospitals will inevitably fill up and already many are cancelling other procedures.

I think it is probably paranoid. In truth, they would have been murdered if they didn't reopen. This virus is unknown territory for us all.

I know someone currently with Covid.
If he doesn't work he doesn't get paid.
He spent 5 months living in a hotel because his landlord died and the HSE took the house and made him homeless.
He is now renting a house weekly because he can't get anywhere. The rent is 500 per week.
If he doesn't go to work he isn't paid and his family is homeless.
Dublin Corporation asked him to leave a campsite over the summer because he was registered with them as homeless. Once registered homeless they put your number on block so you can't call them only they can call you and they never call.

    What would you do?
    Would you go to work?
    I would.

There are far more people without choices it's not always just people who want to party

I'm heading down south in a couple weeks, I had enough of this. I hope I can leave before it's too late...
