Murphy won £200000 as runner up plus an extra £15000 for the highest break in the tournament which was his 144 in his 2nd round match. I wouldn`t turn my nose up at it anyway.

The World Senior Championship is taking place at the Crucible later this week. Stephen Hendry, Jimmy White, Dennis Taylor, Ken Doherty, John Parrott and Joe Johnson are among those taking part in the tournament. There are 4 Irish players in the lineup.

    Go on Hendry!

Pity it's not on TV but I heard some of it will be on the red button (BBC)

    Fantastic prediction, well done,
Selby is a brilliant champion, he does antagonise people, with his speed of play

If you're as old as me and remember Eddie Charlton and Terry Griffiths and a few others then you'll know what a really slow player is. I'd call Selby steady more so than slow.

Funny enough I was gonna mention him too. Selby even at his slowest is Speedy Gonzalez compared to the old guard.

I think selby made a good point, he and stuart Bingham both averaged 26 seconds a shot but Bingham complained!

The thing that annoyed me about selby was the fact he kept playing on looking for snookers when clearly he was never going to get them.

The play in the games prior to the re-racks was not taken into account when calculating the average speed a shot. Some of that play was dire..........
