I was getting a bit nervous there as Murphy made a bit of a comeback but Selby held his nerve to win. Christ even the final black had me bricking it.

Great to see both players joking after the match. They might have been rivals on the table tonight but above all they're good friends.

They both have the same coach as well. Anyway congratulations to Selby who claims his 4th world title and his 1st since 2017. He is now level with John Higgins on the all time list of world titles. He wins £500000 for his 2 weeks work and moves up to 2nd in the world rankings. Murphy showed massively improved form in the Championship after several poor seasons but in the end Selby just had the edge.

Well Done to Mark Selby! Deserves the win and his 4th title, no reason why he can't reach the lads at 6 titles and maybe even hendry!

£300,000 on 1 match is a bit extreme but sure listen that is life!

Massive improvement by Murphy. i didn't realise til the BBC showed the wife and children in Dublin a couple of days ago that he lives over here now. I'm sure the Covid travel restrictions and quarantine have been a nightmare this past day but I'm sure that the prize money for runner up is not to be sniffed at .
