So Messi and Ronaldo both go out of the World Cup today. Amazing that Ronaldo has never scored in a knockout match in the WC. I wonder if Messi will retire from international football (for the second time) or will he give it one last try in 2022? France and Uruguay march on to the last eight.

In today`s matches Spain should beat Russia, unless with the home support in Moscow Russia play out of their skins, I very much doubt it though. Croatia should beat Denmark, I will go for a 3-1 scoreline there.

Another shock result as Spain are knocked out of the World Cup on penalties. The result now means that one of Russia, Croatia or Denmark will reach at least the semi finals. I don't think many would have predicted that before the start of the tournament. Maybe more shocks to come?
