For once there is the foresight and basic common sense in ensuring that the safety and welfare of escorts is of paramount importance, adhered to and successfully implemented.
Yes the Court decision in Canada and the findings of the House of Commons Committee have elevated safety of escorts in importance. Something which was blissfully ignored by our lot. Hopefully the Brits also dismiss the Nordic Model and actually introduce a more progressive regime.

Doubt the UK will follow a more effective model. Seems to be the public push to ensure that Escorts and Clients are always seen as bad.

Yes, seen as underworld and criminals on both sides whether client or escort. Regardless that we are doing this for some company and sex and the ladies to earn a living. It will never change, even those countries where its the norm its still a taboo and a sensitive subject. No politician or official would want to be seen to support as everyone would suspect that they also are involved as a client.

Absolutely, but we are still in the minority

In any other profession a customer/client can find out if the person they are employing is genuine however in this profession here it is the other way around the lady has to suss out very quickly over the phone how safe they will be with the client who just called.
The sad fact is very much that escorting and sexual services are not seen as a profession. Yes its the oldest in the world, but the stigma is still there. Will it change, probably not. We are just a stain of society in many eyes.

In many cultures, and also in many social classes, there has been in the past, and even now, no stigma.

The Crowned Heads of Europe and Asia often had what could only be described as sex-workers, only they had fancy names. It is only us plebs that are not allowed to indulge.

Worst scenario would be if they started to target anyone offering sexual services for a price in addition to Clients being targeted. You are right it would go underground and into the hands of the pimps and gangs to control the business. As I have said before, they could cut the head off by restricting access to websites.

Maybe (and probably will be shot down!) is look at the amount of tax if they made it legit? Think in germany the ladies are registered and have to submit finances and pay tax. But I would suspect the stigma for any government to adopt a more liberal view is a long way away if not at all.

Would it work if it was made a legal profession, would ladies support registering and paying tax?

Rent would still apply though? A thought that if there was a similar approach to Germany where you have to register and pay tax it would weed out those who are working for pimps etc. Some of the ladies who earn a lot might not want to be in the high tax bracket Mind you its a cash environment so ways around claiming for full income. Plus side claim expenses from rent and some extras. Pipe dream but could it work? Could I have a tax receipt as a client to claim back on expenses
