yes thats true. Looking back on it now you wonder was he doomed from the start? The manner he was appointed, the fai appointed himself and mick the same day. Wtf was that about, then covid struck and we lost the playoff on penos. Then defeat to luxembourg was a complete disaster, then lost to armenia. Then the draw from hell to get both france and holland. Nothing went right for him, he must have broke a mirror the day he was appointed.

Typical FAI make a mess of everything, interesting, during the week Tony Keohane was mentioned as their new Chairman, I know him from old, worked for him in the past, no better man to knock that crowd in to shape, in fairness to him he was a bog standard supporter in the stands back in the day.

I wonder who'll get the job. I see we have friendly games in march and the nations league next september will be our first competitive games.

Will be interesting ok to see, question is, who would want it, with their cash position they won’t be able to pay the type of salaries that a lot would require

Is he, his record with Celtic in the Scottish league would be good, wonder what it is like in Europe ? Did he not manage some other Scottish team wonder what he produced there. Managing Celtic is not a true reflection

I know it was a friendly game but all the talk has been about Bert, will this be his final game or not ?

Well that question has now been answered.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to James McClean though.

He is well past his best, that's granted. But he always wore the Irish shirt with immense pride and passion.

And he has probably suffered more abuse, including death threats, during his professional career than any other footballer.

He stuck to his beliefs and he was 100% correct doing so.

    Happy retirement James.
    Are we there yet ?

I'm not much of a footie fan. But serious respect to him for all that. I remember reading about it all years ago. Wasn't there some uproar about him not wearing the poppy as well a couple of times? A man with values. That's rare these days. Man's got balls. No pun intended!

Chris Hughton crossed my mind, I don’t know what he is doing now, but I think he would be a great option.

He is managing Ghana, think he is doing a decent job there, would. Like him to get it, at least he has experience and would probably try to play decent football
