The only place Greece can get money from is Europe, the ECB. They have been over-spending and now it is pay-back time.
Greece has only two choices:
• A third bailout with austerity attached,
• or economic collapse.
Greece has almost run out of money, literally; not enough paper money to pay people.
If Greece can't get more bailout money from Europe soon, it will have to pay pensioners and public sector workers with IOUs.
Greece would start printing its own currency. The new drachma would be worth much less than the euro.
The economy could shrink by another 25% in just two years. Political and social unrest may follow.
Europe is already talking about providing humanitarian aid, such as medical supplies, showing just how desperate things are.
Bad as austerity is, it is still better than a total economic collapse.

The best thing the Britz ever did was stay out of the yo yo and the second best was to stay out of the Austerity Treaty that Paddies fell over themselves to vote for in the referendum!
Ride them on the beaches!
Well the Greeks have voted no and you have to admire them for that. What lies ahead now is anyone's guess for the Euro. Emergency summit of Euro leaders on Tuesday. David vs Goliath. Its a bad reflection on Europe to allow this to happen. We will all end up paying again.
Time to batten down the hatches it's not going to be a smooth ride. But I have nothing but admiration and respect for the Greeks tonight. Merkel will be fuming.

The Greeks have voted democratically to declare that they don't want to repay their debts. I am voting myself tomorrow and I think I will vote the same way and tell me bank that I have democratically decided not to repay my mortgage. The bank should respect my decision.

Let us know how you get on with that one
The Greeks won't pay but we will the joys of being in the Euro. And on another point they owe Ireland €350 million so we can kiss that goodbye. No wait !!!!!!! We will be paying for that as well as it was money that we borrowed and leant them hoping to make some back on interest. The currency markets will be cracking in the morning. The Pension is going to take another hit. Ah well could be worse.

Its a tough call as to who do you detest the most. The statist, undemocratic EU or the ever feckless Greek state.
The bottom line is that Greece has received €184 Bn from EU taxpayers, acting as their magic money tree.
Now is the time they get to pay for their socialist welfare state themselves. Good riddance to both would work for me.
