Age check required before accessing adult sites?

This morning I saw on the UK news that allegedly 500,000 minors (under 18) are accessing adult websites, and those figures only come from laptops, not accounting for mobile devices such as tablets and mobile phones.

I agree that something needs to be done. In my opinion, online porn really is an issue and it is too easy for kids to access it. It creates the illusion that it is normal for a man to asphyxiate a woman while banging her up the ass, then blowing his load into her mouth while another willing female partner joins in on a snowballing session. You catch my drift, I'm sure.

In all honesty, the internet cannot be policed, but if people had to verify their details and log in every time they accessed an internet browser before they can load an internet page, then that might solve many problems in my opinion.
