Lets pick each point apart, and tell the media too. In fairness all they want is a good ding dong to fill airtime and column inches.

But seriously it is vital that people speak up now, don't let this bullshit report stand
Seems they have ignored submissions from escorts, clients, media shows/articles , our speech in the Committee ..

Actually must make a call ...

Overkill indeed. They should really tackle child pornography outright before thinking about making prostitution sites illegal to visit!

-They seem to want the Gardaí to be in charge of sex workers' health protection. WTF
-No recommendation to remove brothel-keeping laws as applied to sex workers.

They are trying to put leash on every escort neck, the whole proposal sounds like making escort life harder every way possible.
There is nothing in it how to protect women who want to stay in prostitution !

What about things like Twitter that have sex workers advertising? How can this be policed realistically and where do they draw the line? It is pretty extreme recommendation to compare visiting a site advertising consensual sex between adults to child pornography; it doesn't make any sense if this was implemented, because this would mean that perusing a prostitution advertising site would have worse repercussions than actually paying for sex! It's bonkers!

I don't subscribe to the threads much but I think we all need to make our voices heard here. In my opinion the whole campaign on behalf of the government has been negatively biased anyway. It was going to come to this one way or the other. However I feel that the ladies on the front line here should try and make the government think otherwise. You have TORL or whatever they're called twisting the truth every chance they get. Sure yes there maybe girls who are abused and pimped but (correct me if I'm wrong) its small percentage of what actually goes on.There are countries where this business is legal and it works well. All the proposed bill will do is drive this industry underground and put girls back on the streets etc.

I would hope that the powers that be have a proper think about this and not be influenced by the hypricitical bible bashers and do gooders of this nation who as we all know are have committed far worse atrocities and nothing has been done to them. So come on.. this is suppose to be Ireland of the 21st century. Not the hypricritcal narrow minded Ireland of the 1950's.

(I apologise for the spelling mistakes if any )

many men with something to lose would be deterred by the threat of arrest/prosecution/trouble.
once caught a man can pay 400 euros or get a fair hearing at court? they want the cash (not the hassle of proving a case)

why not add men to sex offences register/tagging of some sort...

After Rachel and myself went through the trouble of going to the Committee Meeting and giving a full, honest testimony,

I heard/read some Committee members say that she and I must have been put up to what to say in front of them.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

She and I went in there without any coaching; I went in there without consulting a single person, and gave evidence as to

my experiences as an Independent Provider, and shared my insight into the industry as I see it, after being an active

Independent Escort in the Republic for the last two years.

If the truthful opinion -- coming from current experience !! -- of two successful , Independent sex workers is dismissed

out of hand -- as our contribution was , I do not see how and what more we are able to do.

A liar will assume that everybody else is lying.

We have shown time and time again that their campaign is (in the best case) built on faulty information, and at worst is

a deliberate, conscious, devious, deceitful attempt to harm and intimidate a large swath of their own society,

all to their own moral/financial goals.

If they were not willing to accept an open and honest testimony from us, what more can any single sex worker do ?

    Please share ideas xx
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

Hardly surprising. Trying to find a single brain cell in the heads of them lot is lot trying to find a needle in an ocean. Lazy, greedy, unintelligent people who refuse to listen to reason, instead taking the lazy way out and listening to bias and prejudice.

    Makes me sick.
