Is this report so over the top that it could be binned pretty quickly or is it an negotiating position paper

I just think it's ashame the recommendations are so black and white and everyone is tarred with one big brush there's nothing about independents choosing to work, clients seeing someone who has free will, so when you read the recommendations it's really kind of hard to argue against no?

Taking each point I ask anyone to give me an argument on any of those points as to why it's bad?

Just to re-iterate I think there should be a seperation of prostitution and what everyone sees and thinks is prositution versus someone who is an independent escort, huge difference.

-Evidence of Swedish model advocates was accepted uncritically. Evidence of opponents was noted but simply ignored.
-They are calling for the accessing of escort sites to be treated in law the same way as the accessing of child pornography. This is not only ridiculous and infantilising, but unworkable, possibly unconstitutional and dangerous for sex workers who may have to find other ways to advertise.
-They seem to want the Gardaí to be in charge of sex workers' health protection. WTF
-No recommendation to remove brothel-keeping laws as applied to sex workers.

Just saw the headlines, haven't studied the report yet. I suggest as many people study it as possible. There are people here from all walks of life, all kinds of life experience and professions. I'm certain if we put our heads together we can poke so many holes in it that it will be binned.

Its just typical of this country don"t they think their time would be better spent going after the gangsters who robbed the country and are still living the high life.

the last point does not make sense and reveals the 'loaded' mindset behind torl.

it was far too extreme to have worked for torl.

That last one yeah, is really over the top to be fair. If that was the case should we not ban access to all porn sites?

As someone else stated all these reports do is distract attention away from how badly run this country was and is continuing to be.Hopefully this recommendation will not be passed into law in the Oireachtas..If it is there will be a lot less escorts in business here.
    The Truth is out there.
