Firstly, it's up to the posters to decide which threads to reply to; we don't force them at gun point. Im sorry that you don't find the post intellectualy satisfying enough. We actually moderate threads that we feel get out of hand and abusive, give out personal details or certain aspects are requested to be removed by certain posters.

As for escorts advertising, well anyone has a right to work as a sex worker if they wish too, albeit there is more competition and yes, a current recession intensifies the situation and appears to be putting the client more in control than the escort, in terms of 'I'm strapped for cash, so I want my money's worth'. You're preaching to the converted talking about escort costs, for I have made the same points myself several times in the past. You do highlight the problems of the message boards, but onsidering about 2-3% of visitors actually bother to post, it's not really that relevent in terms of scale.

You state that you are not aware of any convictions of persons having sex with a trafficked escort, but you have highlighted the extent of trafficking you suspect goes on in Ireland. We don't make a public broadcast of it, but we do actually pass the information onto the police regularly, and it would be a lot more constructive for clients to report these issues rather than posting about them on a heavily media-observed website highlighting them. If you look at the rules of the forums (check my signature link), you will see that there is a section on the Police, indicating that we do report things and cooperate with the Gardai. The problem is, everyone wants to talk about it, but nobody's willing to actually do anything about it. I'm sure crime-lords of the sex industry would be reading these threads too, so rather than advertise things, why not report them? There has been diffusion of responsiblity as to who should report it; we actually do our bit. Clients don't want to do their bit because they are afraid of being exposed for the stigma of seeing escorts or having affairs. In this business, everyone kind of relies on the whole anonymity thing and it works both ways for escorts and clients, hence the reason we discourage witch-hunts. That's one of the risks of seeing escorts unfortunately.

You've completely missed the point about the 'loop' thing. Somebody mentioned earlier that they take your opinions on board as an ex-moderator, and the point I was making was that you weren't really around enough to bear in mind the decisions made behind the scenes or the change of procedures. If you're a man of your own mind, I respect that, and even as a manager, I am too, as well as the other mods. It's a combination of these independent thinkers that make the decisions, and if a decision is wrong, it's wrong, and we deal with it and move on.

The point about glamour models has been missed completely too. You're an intellegent bloke, Carlos.... the point I was making there is that there have been a number of glamour models (or whoever) coming to Ireland to work and these threads pointing fingers and claiming "she's a fake" would probably discourage a return visit. They might all be the same to you, but for other people, seeing a glamour model, porn actress or lingerie model might be a thrill, so don't knock it.

There are concerns that the sex industry will become illegal, and personally, I think it will force it underground. These debates have been had before, several times recently, so I've missing your point about censoring real issues.

This isnt about one single thread, its about a trend, and that trend seems to be, if in doubt, delete. However much I agree that we cannot have trolls endlessly spamming, I cannot agree that I haven't got the right to read something that was placed in the Public Arena. Better to debate and censor than delete.

As to the glamour model thread, I think perhaps Anon is owed an apology, he didn't name that lady, she named herself. During the curse of that thread that was twisted and lost. I would also think that ladies who work in this industry are well used to having to field enquiries as to the validity of their pictures, hence they produce the proof Angelina so readily did. I don't want to get into the rights and wrongs of free debate, I don't want to be told that its for my own good, I don't want to argue, I just want to read stuff and add to it and no it will still be there when I go back to it...isn't that kind of what a forum is about? The said trend is really two threads: the Angelina Paris thread was removed (for reasons I have explained several times) and another thread which I did accidently delete, and I completely admit that, and I have already said I'm sorry.

I have the upmost respect for Anon. He is a helpful, polite and informative chap and I have a lot of time for him, but he decided to leave on his own accord and that truly is a shame, but he is always welcome. In fairness, we have never said that he revealed the escort's name. This of course isn't the case, but the links she posted t prove herself did.

I was a little frustrated because I actually told Anon that this really is the escort in the picture and then the thread continued. The escort said that she posted the videos to confirm that this really is her; she was proving herself to be genuine to Anon. The problem is she did actually have two previous fake photo reports, and I am assuming that this is because she wanted to avoid the detection, and of course, this brought her more attention when she put up her real pictures.

It was good on her part to send in genuine pictures and to stick out the active photo reports, rather than create another profile which would also be a big problem.

As I have already said, there have been a good few escort profiles that have genuine pictures that have been reported. We have a system in place for people to report fake photos and the reason we request people to use this is so that we can avoid any potential mistakes. I did ask Anon to report things properly, and I told him that he should not keep posting screen shots of fake photo reports because a) they are already active on the escort profile and b) he is posting the fake photo reports before they are moderated in the form of a 'head's up' thread. I also agree with Lucy's comment that everything in the thread we are referring to was twisted and lost, and this is another reason why we try to discourage these types of threads.

I know Anon was trying to be helpful, but we need to maintain a balance between reporting issues and setting up a thread which will inevitably start a series of people jumping on an escort.

Personally, I think that's fair for both parties and clients should be enocouraged to check the fake photo report section of each escort profile to make a decision, along with reviews and photo verifications.

Lucy, your points are duly acknowledged and I agree that most things should be debated rather than removed. This is something that was mentioned a few weeks ago and I genuinely think that there has been less of this (apart from last night of course), and in the event things do get removed or edited, we make a conscious effort to inform the involved parties.

Just to add, altough we do have enough evidence to suggest that these photos are genuine, we did request a new verifiction photo yesterday anyway, because we need to double check if there is any doubt. Raquel is still awaiting this.

That's complete bollocks. The current mods always send the original posters a message as to why something was deleted (and in most cases, edited out) and I've personally done this with you several times.

Now I know Luther (God bless him) was one for being the peacemaker and was always consistent in informing people about things, but I know other previous moderators that weren't quite so forthcoming, nor gave any real rationale for removing/editing or even banning.

Sorry my dear friend but what has been going on on these boards in the last few months is totally the opposite of what an open forum is supposed to be,for some strange reason there would appear to be a regular "statement" from the moderators under the direction of the managers no doubt, that no nonsense will be tolerated. I am not a regular poster here but I have watched these boards for many years and I can state without fear of contradiction that now they are a sad shadow of their former bright and sometimes turbulant best, look at the night of the 19/4/10 when most users where online,, why??? cause of the thread that was running about love 22 and his banning and the ratted review of Jessica Jessy, that i fear would not be tolerated in the present time, I fear that thread would have been locked after the first 10 posts, people were talking and inviting others to come to watch the whole thread unfold on facebook. Those days have gone and it is my opinion that there was a concerted attempt to bring that kind of exchange to an end. One of those who fought that night against what was in everyones eyes a complete outrage is now a moderator, go figure.
