Not seen anything over 50 in years.

Even getting a largish sum out from the bank was all in 50 notes.

Then i see a shop refusing a 50 the other day, lol. A lot of fakes going around the guy said.
Its not hard to check them no?

Also there is a growing tendency for customers to treat small businesses as banks.
Walk into a bank and ask them to break a €100 note and they will ask if you have an account there, so instead, walk into a retailer, take all their change. Retailer then has to go to the bank for change and has to pay bank charges for change.

Iam not happy to take it. I would probably make my excuse…

Some fake notes are made really good. It’s better don’t recognise fake of €50 note than €500 and do a change like a bonus.

Anyway i never saw it and please don’t bring me it. I don’t want it.

English tourists that change their money before they travel, often have €200 notes. Also there are now a few ATM in Republic that dispense €100 notes.

I was collecting them too a few years ago.
I had about 60k in them and then realised nobody would take them so I got rid of them.
Spain, Turkey and Romania don't seem to have issue with them.
I was charged €50 for lodging 20 notes.
    To count 20 notes €50
    Never again, that's ridiculous.
Banks are worse than escorts for their charges
