I posted on another thread, I work in Monaghan, which is a border town,, the amount of girls working there & the amount of guys I see from the North, has not increased since the introduction of Morrow's law. So the influx of guys travelling to the South, is a myth based on zero evidence supported by manipulated figures to suit the fictional argument being bandied about. The information I put forward, is based completely on genuine, true facts.
Lets be honest here, guys aren't going to travel from one end of Ireland to another for a punt, guys usually punt within a reasonable amount of distance from their preferred location. So to include figures from as far south as Cork/Limerick etc has very little relevance, guys aren't going to travel that far from the North for a punt.
As stated by Kate, the general public, full stop, are taking advantage of the strong £/weak euro. People in border towns used to travel to the likes of Enniskillen for shopping as the exchange rate favoured them, now the tables have turned. You will see on many shops in Monaghan, the exchange rate for £/euro as they now accept payment in £, as so many shoppers are visiting the South to do their shopping.
