If you like the quotes , you will love the book.
Another excellent book is "The Origins of Sex, a History of the first sexual revolution" by Faramerz Dabhoiwala.

It's mostly about the period between 1600 and 1800, but includes a lot of background material; there are lots of stories about the fearsome penalties meted out to people who fell foul of the church, the law or their neighbours.

I should also have said that I found this a "challenging" read; it's quite dense in places, and quite academic. It can be, at least for me, hard going at times; but I don't have much of a background in this field. It's really about the societal, legal, theological and moral changes in this period; from a religious based ideology through the enlightenment and rationality.

I always said we (escorts) have different values and morals than other people.

Escorting is not for everyone, as well as I do not see myself working as a teacher or gardener , for example.

Rather than growing up with fear of God, sex is dirty, getting paid is uncalled for it (actually is another word I am looking for) is better to be taught not to steal, rape, murder, be honest with yourself and the people around you as much as you can, love, be a true friend etc etc ... Be a good person , making a good life for yourself in present, think of the future.

    My two cents anyway.

A couple of books that you might like are:

Reay Tannahill, Sex in History (1980), and

Nickie Roberts, Whores in History; Prostitution in Western Society (1992) — and Nickie should know.

Both are now out of print, but you might find them on amazon marketplace.

They do have right to reply, as anyone can join the site. Joining the site does not have any impact on the way I work or the way clients select Escorts. They can choose Independent Escorts if they want to, as they DO advertise on here.

As far as I'm concerned I use this site as a legitimate directory and I pay for my adverts, that get me the work that I want and need. They have no hand in my work other that to provide a service. They also provide a very helpful service that contributes to keeping me safe.

In my mind it is no different to paying rent to a landlord who may or may not be declaring the cash. As far as I'm concerned what I'm doing is legal and above board and as such, I have every right to have an opinion on anyone who threatens my livelihood or those that avail of my services. Any problems there may be with EI are a separate issue and nothing to do with me.

Everyone has a right of reply here. EI boards are open to all who care to join, as you clearly illustrate. I have no personal connection with EI or it's staff. It's simply a place where I put forward my views and opinions, with which you're more than welcome to disagree.
    2014 in Northern Ireland:

Number of reported attacks on sex workers 70

Number of sex trafficking cases ZERO

    This is rather different:

Paying for it; a comic-strip memoir about being a john; by Chester Brown

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Paying-Chest...=paying+for+it

He is a Canadian comic-strip artist who decided girlfriends weren't for him, and went for escorts instead. Most of it is memoir, but there is a bit at the end on his reflections on sex work. The only real problem with the book is that it's written/printed in a "comic" font that can be rather difficult to read.
