    Unhappy Lou Reed RIP

The renowned musician, best known for his work as guitarist, singer and songwriter for the Velvet Underground, passed away at the age of 71, six months after undergoing a liver transplant in May.
Following his surgery, Lou assured fans on his website that he felt "bigger and stronger" than ever before, but he was rushed to hospital due to complications stemming from it in late June.

So that's why they were playing a bunch of Lou Reed songs on the radio this evening.

Didn't realise he was in poor health. Great original talent.

His tribute (along with John Cale) to Andy Warhol, 'Songs For Drella' is one of the best albums ever.

Now he's gone, just a few months after Ray Manzerek, another great talent.

Cassandra sums up my thoughts perfectly. Unbelievable. He was a legend. Not simply a rocker, he was experimental, original. A great songwriter. RIP.
