Fair point Helix, the Grand Slam was won by some superb talent, with Kidney coaching.

Doubtful for Conor O'Shea as he's already said he's tied to his contract - but then again you never know.
Whoever takes the job on needs to look at Irish talent playing overseas, one thing Kidney NEVER grasped

    Default Declan Kidney

Just seen that Declan Kidney got the sack. I think it's the right call.

I know, but who ever takes the job will have their hands tied by Sexton, i can't see any manger being in favour for long if they don't play sexton over madigan or jackson.

Haha...I had to merge a couple of threads, and as I am really lazy, I made sure I wouldn't have to do it again

I heard this earlier..Kidney won the Grand Slam in his first season as Irish coach but was never really able to maintain the team at that level especially during the last 18 months, so this news comes as no real surprise.Conor O`Shea would be my choice to replace him but it seems the IRFU will have to move heaven and earth to get him to take the job.

To be fair to him no international team could cope with all the injurys that team had,i think 11 at one stage, but having said that his time was more or less up.

To be fair to him he had to contend with a terrible injury list,on the other hand a lot of his choices he made were baffling,he was a dead man walking.
