If they made tax cute and furry I'm sure it would be much more popular!

Also many ladies may not know but if you work from home or rent a place soley for work you can deduct the cost back from tax! In the end you pay very little!

It's often said that from the day you are born there are 2 certainties in life ..........
You WILL Die ........ and .......
    You WILL pay tax.
If you decide not to pay tax, unfortunately, it will come back to haunt you ( as mentioned in other posts regarding "gaps" in your life ).
The one difficulty I see regarding inland revenue is that touring escorts do (or may) not have a Pernanent address (fixed abode) in this country.
My advice would be not to say you are involved in illegal activity because then you are involving the CAB

You make a good point about not having a fixed abode but if they are not actually living in Ireland they would pay in their home countries. Not sure about ladies who live here but still have no fixed abode but my experience is the tax office care not about your address purely need one for correspondence.

I've just been looking into the criteria for gaining a work visa in Ireland and have found that all EU citizens, now (since early 2012) including Bulgarians and Romanians, do not need a visa to work or live in Ireland. However I couldn't find any info on paying tax as a selfemployed resident non-national but assume there shouldn't be an issue. Also, from what I've read, in my opinion , most if not all South American and Asian girls here, working as escorts, have to be operating outside the terms of their visas and are therefor working illegally.

Yes that is true. But giving an address to revenue can bring complications to others
Like everything else, if we want to we can come up with countless reasons to avoid taxes but .......... as they say "where there's a will there's a way"

Yes the restrictions on Romanians and Bulgarians were lifted at the beginning of 2012 as they are now full EU members. It will be lifted in the UK soon too.

Some non EU escorts must be actual residents too though like full domiciled. If one isn't then as I said before tax would not be a high priority.

But regardless to whether a job is legal (escorting) or not one can still pay tax on it. A friend of mine is an Escort in New York and although it is totally illegal in every aspect she still files a return.

If you don't have an address like a lot of touring ladies how can the tax man track you down .

Most touring ladies live somewhere lol everyone has a home. And most people have a bank account. If you are banking money and have no way of proving how you made it it can be seized.

Also if you are travelling with money (I think over 1000 euro) and you are stopped you may have to prove how you earned it and that you paid tax on it under money laundering laws.

It's worth noting that the tax man will always over estimate earnings too, so if you charge 200 euro an hour it's likely they will estimate you working a 40 hour week at that rate. Very ouch.

But again, this isn't a thread to warn about the dangers of not paying tax but more to get an idea of peoples opinions in regards to whether they feel escorts should or can. I think a lot of folk are misinformed about the fact that as an escort it is impossible.

Setting yourself up as self employed is realitively easy. You can trade as a Sole Trader or as a company. If it is a company you have to register the company with the tax office and Company Registration.
Not sure you can put escort down as purpose of trade, but i dont see why not as its not illegal. Perhaps you have to be a little creative ie Rieki Massager, Nail Technician etc.
If you trade as Ebony Amber Nail technican you are a Sole trader. You contact your nearest tax office informing them when you are starting your business. You are then responsible for self assessment of tax, which can be very straightforward if its just you working for yourself
