Pride Parade
Seattle was having it’s annual Pride Parade, where the locals gay and trangender people turned out and celebrated their way of life. Sadly, this particular event was picketed by a rather noisy group of anti-gay protesters.
However, local drag queen Mama Tits was having none of it, and called these bigots out on their despicable ways. She did it in a very intelligent manner as well. She pointed out how they themselves were not in tune with the bible, and they were the ones who were going against what the holy book said.
“Why don’t you read your own book and actually follow the teachings to the letter of God and learn to support and love?” Mama Tits asked the group. “You need to drop the hate! You are a sad, sad excuse for a human being. Once you learn to drop the hate, you too can find happiness because we will welcome you in open arms when you learn to open your mind. Not today, Satan! Not today!”
Her Facebook page also cheekily pointed out that if they followed the bible to the letter of the ‘law,’ they would be doing some very strange things indeed, including stoning to death women who have sex before marriage. So it seems they are believing the parts of the bible that suit them!
A Man Of Love
I don’t want to start calling the church out too much on this one. There are plenty of religious people out there who realise that Jesus was about compassion. I actually believe that if the beardy fella was around today he would be a supporter of gay marriage, as he believed in love. I think he would be more concerned about the gap between rich and poor, and the fact that people are still killing each other in the name of religion.
Thankfully things are getting better for the gay community. The Dublin male escorts are, for the most part, accepted like anyone else. Yes, there are a few bigots who dislike their way of life, but there are less and less of them as the years go on.
