Dangerous sex position
The study, which looked at 44 men who had suffered the painful experience of penile fractures, wanted to know what position caused them. The best way to find that out? The scientists asked them.
How would you react to someone asking how you broke your penis? I imagine that most men would be embarrassed. After all, it is hardly something you’d be proud of!
However, it seems that the main culprit for penile fractures is… woman on top. Ladies, get down from there!
The experts had some ideas as to why this might be, suggesting that because the man cannot stop the woman when she moves down is the reason for it. “Not being able to interrupt [the movement] when the penis suffers a wrong way penetration, because the harm is usually minor in the woman with no pain but major in the penis.”
Penile fracture! What do I do?
If you have ever experienced the excruciating pain that is said to come from a penile fracture, you will know that sometimes it isn’t just the pain that comes from this particular injury. As if you didn’t have it bad enough!
The study also looked at other symptoms that you might experience if you ever experience this, and they are swelling, cracking sound, detumescence, and hematoma. Yes, your penis can actually make a cracking sound when it breaks! Yikes!
If this happens to you, the best way to avoid causing further injury is to stop what you are doing! It may sound like a ridiculous suggestion, but some men will want to soldier on and pretend nothing is wrong. Don’t try to be hard-core.
As embarrassing as it might be, once you have stopped you need to get yourself to a hospital. I mean, come on!
If you have broken any part of your body it is important to get it looked at by a professional (and not your girlfriend in a sexy nurse outfit) to get it checked out and fixed.
What to do afterwards
It might be a bit worrying to admit that your girlfriend’s bouncing has done this to you, and it might be difficult getting back on the horse again, but remember this kind of injury isn’t hugely common. The best way to avoid it? Take it slow in the future and let your partner know what you want and how you are feeling.
