As we all know, the Northern Irish Assembly voted this week to make the purchasing of sex illegal. Though we are disappointed by the decision, we are not going to pretend we are that surprised. Still, as this question is answered, other ones pop up almost immediately.
The first one I have is how will sex workers adjust their business practices to fit in with the new laws? One idea people have had is that sex workers will now all move to ‘massage services’ where there will be no evidence at all that anyone is buying sex.
The Latest Cartoon
This is illustrated rather well in the latest ‘Ruhamians’ cartoon, where our favourite Nuns are celebrating the passing of the bill. Well, one of them wants go and celebrate at one of the new ‘massage parlours which have sprung up’. Let’s just say one of them is rather shocked and seems to have twigged as to what has happened!
I love these ‘Ruhamians’ cartoons. Not only are they rather funny, they hit the nail on the head every single time.
